He did it! Noah rolled from belly to back today....he acts like he's been doing it forever. Now if I can just catch him rolling from back to belly...

4 month update

Baby Noah had his 4 month check-up with Dr. Clark yesterday. He weighed in at 13.8lbs (25% percentile) and was 25.75in tall (90% percentile). Poor little guy had one shot and boy-oh-boy was he unhappy. So unhappy that he even had a tear run down his cheek. Dr. Clark told Noah that he looked great and to keep up the good work growing!
When we got home from his Dr. visit, Noah was in a great mood. Up until now, he's only rolled over a few times from back to stomach...never stomach to back. But yesterday he attempted and almost did it. I actually caught it with my slow, pokey camera!



Sheesh, he's sure getting big fast...

We had our first playdate today! Initially, we were going to try to do this weekly, but alas, things got busy and one can not predict the schedule of a baby...
So here we are, 16 weeks later...

Jesus loves the little children

What a special weekend we had....Noah was dedicated to Jesus on Sabbath. Before Noah was even born, Matt and I knew we wanted to make Jesus the center of our family. This was our way of publicly letting our church family know that we were committed in raising Noah to love and follow Jesus.
Noah's Grammie, Grandad, Halmuni and Halabeoji came all the way from northern CA to support him! His friends Laura, Dale, Ethan, Jenece, Brendan, Brady and Yuna were there to give him lots of love as well. Thank you all for coming and supporting our family....it really means a lot to us!


Noah also got the warmest welcome at his Sabbath school. The class had a special chair that he got to sit in, and everyone sang a special song to make Noah feel welcome and loved.

weekend with Dad

This past weekend, Matt got a little one on one time with Noah. One of my best friends was having her bachelorette weekend in Santa Barbara and I wouldn't have missed it for the world! Matt was such a trooper and agreed to accompany Noah and I up there so that I could spend some time with the girls...


When I asked Matt what they did during their man-to-man, hombre-to-hombre time together, he said that they spent the day walking along the beach, napping together in the hotel room, having a pizza delivered, and driving around the town looking at all the multi-million dollar homes. Sounds like they had a fun-filled weekend ~ I know I sure did!


p.s. I should never have bragged about Noah sleeping through the night. I should've known better...I must've totally jinxed it. That was a one night deal I guess. We're back to waking up every 2 hours. sigh.

Mom, you were right

My mom is the person who told me the rumored "sleeping through the night after 100 days" milestone. To be honest, when she told me I just said "sure-sure" and thought to myself "fat chance." Well.....ready for our big news? The following should be read while singing the Hallelujah chorus.
Noah slept through the night!!! Not just 6 hours, not just 7, but he managed to sleep from 9 pm to 6 am without waking up for a feeding! Monumental. It doesn't stop there. After he nursed at 6, he fell back asleep until 10 am. He definately takes after his mama because anyone who knows me knows this woman likes her sleep! Hip-hip-hooray, holla holla, woot-woot, boo-yah!

100 day celebration

In Korean culture, there is a milestone for babies called baek-il, which translates to 100 days. Though a new baby’s 100 Days is a celebration, it’s actually rooted in a somewhat sad history of Korean childbirth. Way, way back in the day, when we didn’t pay bazooka dollars in health insurance for ob/gyns and neo-natal specialists, infant mortality rates were high and many newborn babies never survived beyond three months. Supposedly, after this milestone, babies are rumored to sleep through the night. Ha - I'll believe it when I see it!

Thus, our family got together in the beautiful Lake Tahoe to celebrate baby Noah's 100 days. We spent the long weekend enjoying the beautiful view, hiking, eating lots of good food, and giving Noah plenty of love and attention!






This was also Noah's first plane ride! He did amazing - not a peep, whimper, protest the entire time. After our flight was over, the folks sitting next to us admitted that they were nervous when we sat down next to them. Noah eventually won them over and had a fan club by the end of the flight.
