Disneyland

To celebrate Noah's and Matt's birthday, we decided to check out Disneyland last week. Generally speaking, we had a wonderful time, although there's a few things I wish we'd done differently. One of them being that I should've introduced the characters of Disneyland to Noah before we went...he really had no idea who any of the characters were, and was so frightened by them...as seen in the following picture. He was thrilled to ride the train around the park. He even got to meet one of the train conductors whom he had no trouble warming up to.

Emme-2 months, Noah-2 years

Last week was Emme's 2 month check-up and Noah's 2 year exam. They both did very well despite the long wait for the Dr! Here's their recent stats:
Emme - 13.2 lbs (99th percentile), 21 3/4 in (55th percentile) - to quote Dr. Clark, she's the "perfect picture of health."
Noah - 24.13 lbs (15th percentile), and 34 1/2 inches (70th percentile) - and the Dr. says he's doing great developmentally as well.

Matt had a special day last week as well, he turned 30! Happy Birthday to the best husband and daddy I know...to many many many more.... I love you!

hairy business

So I have a confession to make....I used to secretly make fun of moms who put extremely large, gaudy bows on their little babies heads. It looked so uncomfortable for the infant. Now that I have a daughter, I've crossed over to the other side. You just can't help it...these bows are just so cute! I've only bought one so far, but I can see that the damage has been done. Matt has already been warned that mass quantities of bows will be purchased in the near future.



In other hair news, Noah has short hair!!! I'll spare you the gory details of how this came to be, but lets just say that Matt will have to do a lot of convincing if he ever wants to cut his hair again :). Noah looks like such a little mischevious boy now!

Emme - 7 weeks

Emme is already 7 weeks old! Somebody tell her to slow down...time is going by too fast. I love the newborn stage so much and I feel like it's zooming along. She's such a good-natured little baby so far. I call her "sweet cheeks", because, well, do I really need to explain? :) She sleeps well at night, only getting up every 3 hours to eat...but thankfully she goes right back to sleep. She loves staring at her big brother, who's equally into her. And she loves to be held - all the time. Just like her brother, she hates being in her carseat. I've actually gotten used to the screaming in the car - it's just part of the ride now. And I finally feel like I'm starting to get in a groove with two kids.

Noah was singing her a little song this morning, and I was so happy that my camera was nearby!

playdate

Getting out with two children is something that I do very seldom these days. Laura was having a difficult time with it as well, so we decided to just go to each others houses to let the boys play. One of the rules we made was that it was perfectly acceptable not to take a shower and to still be in our pajamas when we got together!

This little chair was a bit hit...they loved being wedged in there together!
