the night before Christmas...

Holidays are so much more fun when you have kids! The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of Christmas parties, Santa, trains, and family. Santa was not a hit with Emme (major tears), and had a lukewarm response from Noah this year. He is very curious about the story about the birth of Jesus so we've been answering lots of "why ?" regarding that (actually, about everything!). Emme is just continuing to change. She loves clapping, waving, dancing to music, and is starting to stand up to her brother more & more. She lets him know how unhappy she is if he tries to take anything from her! She says "umma" and "ma-ma" (food in Korean) pretty clearly, and the rest is still a guess. One of my favorite things now is that Noah watches out for her. Whenever we go anywhere or get anything, he always asks for an extra for Emme and remembers to take turns with her. He is always either singing or talking. Always. They are starting to play together more, and the very sight of them playing warms my heart :). Here's pictures of our holiday season thus far...








I had the kids exchange their gifts to each other Christmas eve...Emme got a little pig and Noah a puppy. So soft and cuddly. Afterwards we went on a walk around our neighborhood to see all the beautiful lights.

Thanksgiving 2010

SO much to be thankful for this year...The good Lord has blessed us with two beautiful babies, provided for our family, and has surrounded us with wonderful family and friends to support us.
We spent Thanksgiving day at my parents house. Over 25 friends and relatives came from near and far to eat lots of good food and play the wii till the wee hours of the morning. Noah and Emme got so much attention from Uncles and Aunties, they were never without a playmate!

busy busy busy

Well, things (business-wise) are in FULL swing here! Matt closed on his second practice at the end of last month and has been busy busy busy ever since. We had no idea all the different things that are involved in business ownership and are excited and overwhelmed all at the same time. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers as we work through all the kinks and bumps of the transition...Everyday when Matt leaves for work, Noah tell me the same thing..."Appa goes to work to make money, to buy Noah lots and lots of fishies." He says that phrase literally every day...Oh, if life were that simple :)

The children are continuing to change and grow each day. Emme wants to be doing whatever Noah's doing and follows him around wherever he goes. She also isn't afraid to tell us what she wants (by yelling very very loudly). She has no problem letting us know if her brother took her cheeriohs or her toys! Noah is such a little chatter box, it amazes us what comes out of his mouth sometimes. The other night, Matt had to remind him twice to brush his teeth and while holding up his hand, Noah exclaims (very slowly) "Okaaaayyyy, okkkaaaayy....calm down!" Ha! I wonder where he got that attitude from!

Our family is finally complete in El Dorado Hills...Matt finally finished school last week and is officially an orthodontist! We're so incredibly proud of him and love that he's up here with us now. We're still working on finalizing the sale of a practice, so in the meantime, we're enjoying the free time that he has. Emme is crawling, pulling herself up to stand, and has 5 teeth already. Noah is completely potty-trained, talking in complete sentences, and is already trying to boss his little sister around (he actually tries to boss all of us around!). We are LOVING El Dorado Hills. There's so many parks, young families, and things to do in the area. It's so nice to have family just a drive away as well.

Noah's first day of school that he doesn't go to anymore...it's a long story, but I pulled Noah out of preschool. He still asks about it and wants to see Miss Shelby, so we'll definately try again next year!

So much to catch up on...

...but feeling like there's so little time! The Sanders family is going through lots of changes right now, including a new city, new school (for Noah), and a new home. I will update with pictures soon, but I wanted to document Emme's 6 month photo shoot that we took at the Mission Inn before we moved to Northern Ca. The shoot was scheduled at Emme's nap time, so she wasn't very generous with the smiles, but she was just as sweet as always!

Is she really eating cereal already?!? Emme started eating cereal last week, and so far it's going fairly well. Noah lets me know during meal times that it's time to feed Emme 'yogurt', and assumes position in my chair. He loves to try feeding her and cheering her on.
