Getting out with two children is something that I do very seldom these days. Laura was having a difficult time with it as well, so we decided to just go to each others houses to let the boys play. One of the rules we made was that it was perfectly acceptable not to take a shower and to still be in our pajamas when we got together!

This little chair was a bit hit...they loved being wedged in there together!

Sabbath is a happy day

Every Friday night, I discuss with Noah that we are going to Sabbath school the next morning. And every time I tell him, I get the same response..."YYAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!" He is such a spirited boy, he really melts me with the things he says sometimes.

Emme - 4 weeks old

We're still here

We have survived our first week with no help from family...barely. I'm not gonna lie, there was a day this week where I ate cereal for every meal (Matt had night class). And I managed to get out of the house only once with both kids. It took me about an hour to get everything ready for us to leave, only to hang out at the park for about 20 minutes to get home in time for lunch. Luckily, Matt is so helpful from the moment he gets home, until the last child is tucked in bed.
Noah has been so patient with me and so accepting of Emme...He asks for her as soon as he gets up in the morning, and keeps tabs on her location throughout the day. He continues to be overly generous with his hugs and kisses, and wants to help out with her baths and diaper changes.
Emme is our little eater. With Noah, I was constantly worried about his weight gain, but I'm pretty sure we won't have that problem with Emme! We had a Dr.'s visit at around 2.5 weeks, and she managed to put on about 2 lbs already. She's such an easy baby so far, and doesn't even fuss during baths anymore. She doesn't like waiting for her meals though (just like her mama!).

Emme Katherine

Can I just start out by saying how much I love having a newborn? I love the way they smell, look, and the way their little bodies just mold to you. Emme Katherine entered our lives on January 23rd, and she is just the sweetest little girl...she actually reminds me a lot of Noah when he was a newborn. So far, she's been super easy going and mellow...the only thing that makes her mad is bath time. Noah has welcomed her into our home with so much love and affection, it's bordering on a little 'too much', if there was such a thing. Everytime he sees her, he can't stop hugging and kissing her. He get's concerned when she whimpers (he puts his hands on both sides of his face and whispers "oh no! baby"), and he loves to go get diapers for me when it's time to change her. He tries to get her to drink from his sippy cup, and is always trying to share his snacks with her.
God has truly blessed our family with this new addition, and while I know that the coming months are going to be a challenging adjustment, I can't wait to see how our family changes! God is good...

Her entry into this world started off rocky, but thankfully she's doing well now!

new years weekend

With my due date approaching, we realized that our zoo passes are going to expire soon. So we trekked on down to the Wild Animal Park on New Years weekend to let Noah appreciate the animals yet again. Let me tell you...being 9 months pregnant at the zoo in about 85 degree weather (in January!!!)...I don't think I'll be doing the zoo again any time soon. Thankfully, Noah had a wonderful time and that's really all that matters :).

Since he didn't want to sit in the stroller, I decided to take advantage of a perfect opportunity to rest my feet!
