we have a tooth!

A few days before Halloween, Noah had been unusually fussy. We couldn't figure out what happened to our happy baby...and then we found it ('P' to be exact)! After we had gone trick-or-treating, we peered into his mouth at bathtime and there she was! The next one is about to pop through soon as he is constantly chewing on whatever he can get his hands on. His favorite is when I give him a teething ring that has been chilled in the fridge.

month one of solids = big fat thumbs down

Our first month of trying out solids with Noah has been wildly unsuccessful. He's completely uninterested, wants nothing to do with it, and acts like we're torturing him. We've tried quite the variety of foods and have had the same response with all. He does this thing during meal time where he avoids eye contact/turns his head in order to avoid the spoon. What ends of happening is that Matt will try and hold his head in place to get him to try a bite, and then sputtering and gagging takes place. Any thoughts or ideas from veteran moms out there?

Dear Halmuni & Halabuji

Thank you for the wonderful week! Noah and I visited home this past week and we sure got spoiled! I got to sleep in every morning while his Halmuni & Halabuji played with him and when I finally managed to crawl out of bed, there was even breakfast waiting for me! I got my first haircut since I've had a baby (seriously right?!? It's been six months) while my mom watched him. Noah went on long nature walks while I lazily surfed the internet. Absolutely a new mom's dream come true...

The other night, I set Noah on the floor for just a few seconds so I could put his clothes away....in that time, he managed to pull his basket of books off the shelf and was busy trying to examine them. He couldn't be prouder of himself!

pumpkin patch

After church this past Sabbath, we took Noah to a pumpkin patch so he could pick out his very own pumpkin. He settled on one with a nice, long stem that he could keep a firm grasp on. We had such a fun day munching on kettle corn, watching the animals in the petting zoo, and looking at all the different varieties of pumpkins (who knew there were so many different kinds~we saw at least 20 and mounds of gourds everywhere!). We can't wait to decorate our pumpkins!
